Is Selling On eBay For You?
Maybe you've thought about it. Maybe you even have an account and have made purchases on eBay. But what would itreally be like to sell on eBay? And can money be made doing it?
Since eBay first started operating itsonlline auction service in 1995, untold thousands of people have used it to make extra cash selling things they no longer needed.
At least one man, looking for a fresh start, sold everything he owned on eBay. One irate parent sold his kids Christmas gifts when their antics went over the top. And Rush LImbaugh raised quite a bit of money for charity with a letter from Harry Reidand other members of the U.S. Senate that backfired on them from the publicity Rush generated from by selling it on eBay.
Jay Lenno even did a regular bit on the Tonight Show featuring some of the odball items being sold on the eBay auction site.
If you can get a really good handle on it and can source the kind of new merchandise people are looking for and do it competitively, eBay can generate a substantial cash revenuestream for you.
And if you can build a business around some of the various items people collect, you might not be able tobuild as large a businees, volume-wise, but if it involves something you love or have a personal affinity for, your eBay business can also be a source of pleasure and fun for you.
The nice thing about eBay is that a business built around eBay is real; it is a real world business that sells physical products. It's not an electronic buisness that mostly sells hype.
Ebay supplies the platform, you supply the product and do the work.
With eBay you have a ready market. You don't have to advertise or even build your own web site. With eBay you don't have to find customers. You only have to list what you have to sell and customers will find you. It's kind of like having a store in a supermall. You just set up shop and take advantage of the mall's, or in this case eBay's, traffic volume.
There have, over the years, been many books and ebooks written about eBay selling, but not as many, recently. Most, if not all of what's out there is pretty shallow as well as obsolete, and a lot of it was written by people without the years of eBay experience many long-time users, such as myself, have today.
I'm currently working on two, new, eBay guides, one general and one for a specialized area. If you are at all interested in an eBay business, bookmark this page and check back for updates. It will be well worth your wait to get your hands on this information.
If you're not hoping to magically strike it rich in an online business you can work from home, but have a realistic attitude toward business, eBay is the place for you. Unlike other online businesses that require writing or rewriting ebooks and/or articles, when selling on eBay, all you will have to write is short, descriptive listings of what you have to sell, and that's something you can easily learn how to do.
